GROOVY SONG
Ch
I want to write a song like the songwriters do
A happening song for today
I hope you think my song a little beautiful
Beautiful – without cliché

I’ll take you flying in a beautiful balloon - up up and away
Or maybe we’ll go for a beautiful (groovy kind of?) drive  - along Pacific coast highway
I’ll throw my Ovation in the trunk of my car
And you’ll go swimming while I play
Or maybe we’ll drive those winding mountain roads
To the hills above LA

We’ll gaze out on that endless blue - I’ll see the wind in your hair
You’ll lean over and whisper in my ear and let me know you really care
I’ll have a sharks tooth on a chain around my neck
A cheesecloth shirt open to the waist
Those blue denim shorts and your sun brown legs (sun glasses on?)
Your lips will part with kisses I can taste

Ch

Or maybe we’ll be barefoot in the park - hand in hand we’ll watch the children play
Tomorrow - belongs to only them - but we’ll live for today
We’ll groove to music there’s a whole dam scene
Going down on my eight track machine
And we’ll love beneath the stars in the warm desert dark
Or maybe take a trip in Macarthur Park

And we’ll rent an apartment that belongs to some cool cat
In Santa this or Santa that
We’ll live in Laurel Canyon or maybe Ocean Drive
And only Mama Cass is getting fat
And we’ll drink Tequila and groove by the pool
My advance on cocaine I can squander
And I’ll play in a band with that cool record deal
And we’ll hang out with Peter Fonda
